WOW! seems like everyone simply wants to be able to customize, or brand, their BPOs. Personally, I'd like to be able to repackage unresearched, yet used, BPOs to resell on the market.
I can't count the number of times where I had a BPO, built off of it a few times, and came across (given, bought, traded, etc) a BPO that had already been researched, while I didnt bother to research the one I purchased and used.
The ability to repack ME/PE zero BPOs would be a nice, little addition to the R&P part of the game and make the station janitor happy by not filling the trash cans on a regular basis.
Other than that simple request, Branding, Slot Modifications and all the rest (so far) sound good on paper, as long as Big O doesnt try to trim the edges a whole lot ;)
Oh, here's something I just thunk up (maybe i read it somewhere tho)... As you research more and more items, you can actually get BETTER at the research process - coming up with your own shorthand for notes and equasions, research tools placed for easier use, etc - so, why not allow researchers to actually gain skill points from this? Not for the character skills, just for researching. Have a special research sp pool that advances a non-skill based level which, in turn, increases the speed at which you can perform R&D related tasks - perhaps another that is used for production?
Yeah, I know the current skills do that, but not to any DECENT level that would help in researching, or building, a Titan... A seperate 'nerd' system could greatly benefit the builder types, just as there are myriad of skills that benefit the warrios types...
To be more specific, the skills I propose would NOT be purchaseable or trainable skills, they need be EARNED by doing the same type of tasks over and over, such as research or production. Combat, while some may see it as a repetative task, actually varies greatly in RW instances; different tactics, slightly different maneuvers, etc. While many things in combat would be similar, one can not argue that pouring over prints looking for minute details, making notes using the same words and equasions, and dealing with the exact same tools (scopes, meters, rulers, etc) is far more repetative than dogfight tactics that change every second.
